According to local authorities, a fight broke out inside a group of people attending the OC Fair. Two of them had to be taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
The local Costa Mesa Police department informed that the O.C. Sheriff’s Department responded to a call from inside the OC Fair around 9/9.30 PM. All the one involved in the fight were described as “young male”. Two of them suffered lacerations to their arms and were taken to the hospital right away.
Some people shared through Social Media their concerns about the possibility of some of the individuals carrying knives. This has not been confirmed by local authorities.
The OC Fair counts with metal detectors at the entrance and security in every entrance. The possibility of someone going in with any kind of weapon is remote. This platform interviewed witnesses that did not wanted to share their names and all of them denied the presence of “any type of weapons” during the fight.
This event is one of the most important in the county with more than 1.4 Million in attendance last year. The 2019 OC Fair is from July 12, 2019 to August 11, 2019 and this year will probably increase the number of people attending. Due to controversy about the location, this area becomes “key” for many events in Orange County and will probably be again in the centre of real estate developments in the next years.
