The Military spending all around the world has been increasing since 2017. Many of this situations are directly related to conflicts like the Middle East, the India – Pakistan conflict or Crimea War. But the power of the US and China in this industry is strongly encouraging other nations to spend more and more. Is this just to benefit their economies or … something will happen soon?

The US and China are now in a stage of military spending that holds more than 50% of the worlds “war” budget. Most of this is tied to new technologies like drones and special armours for soldiers. Radars, satellites and laser (yes) technology to intercept missiles are also part of this big budgets all over the world. From Asia to South America. Why?

China has a defense budget that is already over the projected $250 Billion. While the Asian Giant keeps boosting the military budget close to a 5% for the next 3 years, the US is close to reach a new highest in 2020 … $750 Billion. Combined this might be more than 50% of the world’s spending.

Following this 2 main actors, Saudi Arabia with $67 Billion, India with $66 Billion, France $63 Billion, Russia $61 Billion and UK $50 Billion follow the list. All this countries are involved directly or indirectly into different major conflicts.

But at the same time, the US and China are not only selling weapons or military technology. This can be also related to a “military financing” that has been going for more than 30 years. China and the US have been preparing their allies for a major conflict that can happen in a place that can become the turning point for the next decade. While most war analysts believe this spending is related to evolution, a small group support the theory that both countries will face each other anytime soon. What do you think? Is this increase in the military spending going up as of costs, war, future scenarios?
