Second Whistleblower Announced

Attorneys for the Ukrainian whistleblower have announced that they are now representing a second whistleblower in connection to the complaint with “first hand knowledge.” Members of the legal team also alluded to their being “multiple whistleblowers.”

This announcement comes just a day before House Democrats subpoenaed the Pentagon and the Office of Management and Budget for documents for their inquiry. In the letter sent out to the acting chiefs of the bureaus said, “Pursuant to the House of Representatives’ impeachment inquiry, we are hereby transmitting a subpoena that compels you to produce the documents set forth in the accompanying schedule by October 15, 2019.”

Two different members of the whistleblower’s legal team, Andrew Bakaj and Mark Zaid, have announced that their team is also representing different whistleblowers. “I can confirm that my firm and my team represent multiple whistleblowers in connection to the underlying August 12, 2019, disclosure to the Intelligence Community Inspector General,” Bakaj tweeted on Sunday.

However, Mark Zaid’s announcement was more of a bombshell because he confirmed that one of these multiple whistleblowers has first hand knowledge of the events in question. After confirming the second whistleblower claim, Zaid added, “They also made a protected disclosure under the law and cannot be retaliated against. This WBer has first hand knowledge.”

Early Monday, the president took to Twitter saying, “IG: DECLASSIFIED INFORMATION CONTRADICTS THE WHISTLEBLOWER.” @foxandfriends  But why are people surprised? The “partisan” Whistleblower was very wrong on what was said on my perfect, “no pressure,” call with the Ukrainian President. Bring in another Whistleblower from the bench!”

Ironically enough it does appear as if another whistleblower will be emerging very soon. However, this doesn’t mean that the president’s legal strategy will change. Trump’s personal lawyer, Jay Sekulow, believes that since the second whistleblower is being represented by the same team as the first actually may help the president’s strategy because it “shows this firm is in the business of attacking the President.”
